💡 Image recognition is based on the number of key points that the AR platform can find on the uploaded image (trigger). The more points, the faster and more stable the tracking will work.

What images to use as a trigger
- Use contrasting photos with good detail. The difference in tones helps to find more dots in the image. Minimalistic photos are less recognizable.
❌
✅
- Do not use photos with only text as a trigger, they have few contrasting recognition points. If you want to bring a text page to life, we recommend using an area that has a graphic as a marker.
❌
✅
- Avoid using photos with the same small graphic elements, black and white. In this case, the elements in the image look the same, there will be problems with stable tracking.
❌
✅
- Avoid using the same images or symbols in your design. For the algorithm to recognize the trigger image, it must recognize about 70% of the characteristic points. If the key characters are replicated and only some elements are different, the algorithm will not be able to distinguish between your projects and get the correct content according to the desired trigger.
❌
✅
- Use clear photos, computer vision is less able to recognize blurry lines.

Rules for the location of the trigger on printed products
Just as important, you need to keep in mind where your trigger ends up. Even if it looks great on your computer, you need to make sure it will be recognized after printing.
- choose a matte finish, as glossy photos can be difficult to recognize due to their reflection with light
❌
✅
- AR triggers are difficult to use on rounded objects such as cans or bottle labels, make sure that the trigger attached to these objects is not too distorted.
